Nurata Suzani Silk Embroidered Cushion

Drawing the eye towards a colourful floral centrepiece, this silk embroidered cushion displays a handwoven SUZANI pattern. Warm terracotta and red hues complement the green leaf details and neutral background, allowing the pattern to stand out and create a striking design statement. Arranged within a large border of intricate vines and colourful blossoms, the cushion is complemented with a contrasting cream rear panel and comes with a duck feather filling.

Our authentic, handmade suzani cushion covers originate in Nurata, Uzbekistan.
The intricate, colourful pattern is drawn onto the heavy cotton base fabric before embroidering happens. Common motifs include flowers, leaves, fruits, particularly pomegranate. To begin with, silk threads are hand-dyed with natural pigments, getting ready to reveal gorgeous imagery on the rectangular portable looms.
